SRS Students share the love to raise money for Charity

Love was in the air just before Valentine’s Day with students from 9FD and 9FY raising money for Saint Francis Hospice. A Valentine’s themed bake sale was organised by 9FY, while 9FD organised a `Heart on the Wall’ where students and staff were encouraged to write a message to someone for Valentine’s Day. Many students from both forms worked tirelessly, to ensure posters were displayed and emails were sent to students and staff, persuading people to come along and support a fantastic charity. Saint Francis Hospice is an Essex-based charity committed to providing free, personal care to those affected by a life limiting illness. They provide a calm and soothing environment for people so their quality of lives can be improved. They have full access to a full range of medical expertise such as consultants, nurses specialising in palliative care, physiotherapists and more. Everyone who helped raise money got a Head of Year Commendation. The display of hearts on the wall looked fabulous as you stood in the Atrium and the array of cakes that were mostly homemade, was fabulous and very delicious. The efforts of the students, form tutors and Head and Deputy Head of Year certainly paid off, since the students raised a wonderful total of £136.42! Well done to 9FD and 9FY for their hard work!
